July, 2011 – Corman Marine Creates Dredging Division

Corman Marine’s Dredging Division, which will operate throughout the Mid-Atlantic,  vastly increases its ability to self perform work in the Marine Construction Industry. The Company is now  equipped to conduct mechanical dredging operations, and to perform hydraulic unloading of dredge spoil. Personnel staffing this division are experts in the field, and are experienced in working in the Chesapeake Bay, the Delaware River, and the Tidewater region. Yard and staging areas are established in Tidewater, Virginia, as well as the Baltimore Harbor.

2010 - Corman Marine adds floating equipment to the current fleet

Corman Marine is proud to announce the addition of three important pieces of equipment to the current fleet. The Company recently acquired the crane barge “Xavier”, a Manitowoc Model 4600, Series 3, 240 ton capacity, pedestal mounted crane, on a 50 x165 foot barge, with a 4 point mooring system, and 24 inch by 75 foot long spuds. The “Xavier” is capable of working on numerous types of marine related projects, ranging from heavy lift, marine construction and dredging, to bulk handling at either dockside or in stream.

Corman Marine has also added the tug boats “Julia B” and “Artie” to the current fleet of tugs. The “Julia B” is a 60 foot by 20 foot twin engine, 1150 HP push boat. The “Artie” is a 26 foot by 14 foot twin engine, 900 HP, shallow draft push boat. With these additions, Corman Marine increases it’s capacity to support Clients on its various projects that range in location from the Delaware River to Norfolk, Virginia.

Corman Marine develops waterfront park linking the Washington Nationals’ baseball park to the Anacostia River.

With completion expected this summer, Corman Marine is in the process of constructing the pier, docks, boardwalks and park for Diamond Teague Park to link the Washington Nationals’ baseball park to the Anacostia River. This project includes building a 30 feet wide by 374 feet long decorative boardwalk and the installation of decorative handrails, fire water lines and floating plant islands. The Corman Marine crew is working 10 to 12 hour shifts, six days a week to ensure we meet the completion date.

Corman Marine acquired by CG Enterprises to become, along with Corman Construction, one of Mid-Atlantic’s largest heavy construction contractors

Corman Marine Construction, formerly Corman Imbach Marine, was founded in 1921 as Martin G. Imbach, Co., a Baltimore-based marine contractor/design firm. Acquired by CG Enterprises in 2002, Corman Marine, together with Corman Construction, now constitutes one of Mid-Atlantic’s largest heavy construction contractors.
