  • Cox Creek dredge disposal area a key interim step in developing the dredge spoil containment areas for Baltimore Harbor’s future dredging requirements
  • Project consisted of construction of a bridge and pier to process dredge materials from Baltimore Harbor
  • Construction of 100 foot long bridge to connect pier to shore
  • Pier and bridge constructed to support large excavation equipment and off road, earth mover trucks
  • Construction of workboat fixed pier and floating pier, attached to main pier and bridge
  • Details of construction:
  • 50’ by 300’ pier with 32’ by 100’ land bridge
  • 102 20-inch square concrete piles
  • 995 LF cast-in-place concrete caps
  • 18,000 SF of pre-stressed concrete planks
  • Forming and pouring cast-in-place concrete pier and bridge deck
  • 400 LF cast-in-place concrete barrier walls
  • 6,700 SF timber crane mats, navigation lights, composite piling/rubber fender system
  • 3,500 SF steel sheeting abutment
  • 600′ x 16′ permanent gravel access road
  • Additional work, not included in original contract, was added by the owner
  • Project completed with no recordable or lost time injuries
